Works
Vanessa Baird (born 1963) studied at Statens Kunstakademi in Oslo and the Royal College Of Art in London. She has a long history of exhibitions and is represented in several public collections.
With her naïve and burlesque watercolors, Baird investigates familiar everyday situations, initially revealing elements and stories that are recognisable to us all. But with a bizarre sense of humour and a provocative visual vocabulary, she recounts mocking, but also pain-filled, narratives, thus evoking both discomfort and amusement.
